Presepi - Nativity scenes - have started appearing in the town squares and churches. They are often life-sized, and always produced with painstaking attention to detail. I have wandered into this exhibition by Altamuran model-maker Vito Cicirelli without being fully prepared for the bizarre and ingenious craftsmanship that can be inspired by religious devotion.
